Jacqueline Pye was guest author at the Totton and Eling Arts Festival, an event covered by the Southampton Echo. She was described as, 'a popular Hampshire children's author' by the newspaper's reporter.

The Writing Buddies are pleased to announce their partnership with SO:To Speak, Southampton's Festival of Words to run the 'My Southampton' writing Competition. Writing Buddies are involved in many of the festival's events.

Writing Buddies has been a successful group for nearly six years. The time has come though to reorganise and look forward as the number of members continues to grow. For the 2015 season, a membership fee has been introduced and the Writing Buddies has moved to bigger premises, inside the Central Library in Southampton.

The Writing Buddies celebrated their fifth anniversary with a party at the Dolphin Hotel, Southampton and an exhibition of work at the Central Library, Southampton. Writing Buddy Christine Donovan made a cake and The Right Worshipful The Mayor, Councillor Ivan White, opened the event.

Writing Buddies signed copies of their books at the West Quay shopping centre, Southampton.

The new year brings a new format for the Writing Buddies meetings with the introduction of a short talk on writing related subjects by invited guests. Josephine Shaw had the distinction of being our first speaker, with a talk on giving presentations.
